An outline for this question.
- A process is a running program with its own memory.
- A thread is a smaller unit of work inside a process, sharing that process's memory.
- Say the effect: threads are lighter and communicate easily, but a bug in one can affect the others.
- Give an example: a browser runs tabs as processes, and each tab uses threads for tasks.
The mistake to avoid.
Saying they are the same. The memory sharing is the main difference.
The general method: frame, evidence, recommendation.
The same shape works for most role knowledge questions, whatever the topic.
- Frame the problem: what is being decided and who is affected.
- Say what evidence you would gather first, and why that order.
- Give a clear recommendation and the risk you would watch.
Practice it, out loud.
Reading an outline is not the same as saying it. Answer this question in a mock interview, in your own words, then compare it with the outline above.
